This months update brings both good news and bad news.
First the bad news: Kentucky has some funky tax laws where
they basically charge sales tax (6%) on items you buy out
of state. In 2000 NetDragons.com purchased over $20,000
in computer hardware and software for ND. This resulted
in an extra $1200 in taxes that I wasn't expecting to pay.
This further depletes my personal money reserves that I'm
using to keep ND going.
The good news is that bandwidth expenses have dropped by
about 25% and ad revenue has picked up a little (5%). In
total Ad revenue was 57% of total income, donations were
15%, affiliate programs were 28%. Unfortunately the total
income was only enough to cover 60% of bandwidth costs.
(It would have only been 44% had bandwidth costs not
dropped.) In total the remaining 40% comes out of my
personal cash reserves and with other unavoidable
monthly expenses (car payments, food, etc.) the reserves
have been depleted by 13% this month. If donations stay
at the same level this would mean NetDragons.com now has
8 months to live, however they have already been much
lighter this month so I'm placed my estimated at 6 months.
Things are looking up, but we still need your help! Keep
those donations coming, and if you can't donate please
take the time to visit a sponsor or an
affiliate and sign up
for their offers! As of right now NetDragons.com has
6 Months to live!
Thanks,Dave Wexler
