NetDragons Gets a New Look
Over the next week NetDragons will be moving to a new site design that will move us into the
twenty-first century. The site design will improve many aspects of NetDragons, the biggest
of these is a move away from a strictly news based starting page. The new start page will
showcase all our major games along with access to your e-mail account, many new features,
and it just looks better. The site will also include a new music and shopping section so we can
hunt down really good deals for you.
The looks of NetDragons are not the only thing that is going to be improved. Thursday morning
between the hours of seven and nine in the morning, the site will be shut down for a hardware
upgrade, it should only be down for 10-30 minutes. The primary server is moving over to a Dual
Pentium III 500Mhz server with 512MB of ram. This will allow access to the site to be much faster.
About 2 weeks after that, the current Dual Pentium II 350Mhz server will be placed back on-line to
server as a second server for the Vagabond's Quest Arenas. This will improve total capacity to
about 60 in Novice and Expert, 40 in Master, and 30 in Grand Master.
To help fill up all this extra capacity NetDragons will be launching a "tell a friend" campaign to
help spread the word about Vagabond's Quest. This campaign will allow you to send e-mail to
your friends describing the game, if they sign up, you will be entered into a drawing.
There will also be forms you can place on your web site that will link directly to Vagabond's Quest
and every time someone signs up through that form you will be entered into the drawing. Prizes
will range from cash to free NetDragons T-shirts.
