Space Strategy 3000 is an on-line space strategy game. When you start the game you'll be
placed on a totally new planet with 4-8 other players with technology equal to what we have now.
You will be commanding a small marginally developed country. You'll have 2-4 major cities,
and 4-8 small cities, extensive road and rail networks and factories in every city.
Your job will be to expand your territory, learn about new technologies and eventually
work on concurring other planets.
Each world is located in it's own solar system that cannot be entered until a planetary
defense is constructed. This will prevent other large players from attacking your newly
formed space ready planet. Your job after you explore your solar system is to make use
of its resource, all solar systems will have planets that are rich in resources, power,
and land. Eventually you will get to "Star Trek" level technology and then you must make
a choice of either being a warring or peaceful people bent on exploration.
The choices are yours.
This game will be build around the Open Source Software movement. All source code will
be made public for both the client and the server. The game client will most likely be built
in Java with a C/C++ server to connect with. If you would like to help, write
