Getting Started as a Fighter

Fighters are the most physically strong of the five classes, and one of the easiest classes for new Vagabond's Quest players. This is due to their lack of complex magic options, and limitations on weaponry and armor. At first, you may feel you made a mistake, since all classes are relatively the same strength in the beginning, but once you update yourself on some good equipment, you will be a powerful force to be reckoned with.

As you introduce your fighter to the VQ world, a good beginning fight strategy is to fight magic users at first, especially wizards, by running up to melee and slashing them with your weapon. Most have little to no defense and can win you easy money, but beware of their magic, for they can cut you to size with ease. If they cast a big spell and fail, you should be all right. However, if you plan to fight the other classes, be sure to have a good defense in case one of the bigger characters tries to pick on you. A good idea for this situation would be having a good missle weapon in hand, which enables you to snipe at them from missle. Even if they have a missle weapon as well, you will at least be at an even battle there.

At first, you will gain hit points very rapidly, getting up to 65 hit points in around 20 wins. Eventually, this will slow down and even stop for a period of time, with rates of 20 wins for 2 hit points, and so on. In time, you will have enough experience to get the best out of your class--such as extra attacks, like the double and triple attacks, which give two and three attacks to your enemy for the price of one move. While other classes have attacks similar to these, you can make the best out of them because your hit rate is better than the other classes' hit rates.
