Vagabond's War is a combination of Vagabond's Quest RPG elements with real-time action and
strategy in a multi-player world. In it's first edition (build 0.9.x may be released as early a 2-3
weeks build 1.0.x will follow after testing) it will be nothing more then registering a character(s)
and meeting other players on-line, forming a match, and playing with them. The goal is fairly
simple, take control of the castle or defend it from attackers. The game will be supported by
small ads inside the game and will cost nothing to download or to play, ever!
The RPG engine will be based on Vagabond's Quest RPG with a few added features for
real-time combat. There are five classes, Fighters, Priests, Thieves, Tracers, and Wizards.
In Vagabond's War you can be either a male of female, but there are only humans. The main
addition to the basic RPG skills is the one of speed. The biggest factor in speed is the weight
of your armor and weapon. A fighter wearing leather armor and wielding a long sword will move
faster then a fighter with full plate and a battleaxe. Your class also effects your speed, from
slowest to fastest, it's, Fighters, Priests, Tracers, Wizards, Thieves. Experience and levels are
gained exactly the same way as the Vagabond's Quest RPG system.
Once you've registered a character you will be able to login to the central server and enter the
city Netalia. Here you will be able to meet with other people, buy weapons, armor, and skills.
You'll also be able to join forces with people that are getting ready to wage battle.
Once a battle has started no new users will be allowed in and that battle will rage until one side
is victorious. Battle will be fast and furious with as many as 16 players fighting at a time. The
job of the attackers is to penetrate the castle's defenses and destroy a few strategic rooms
(Thrown room, Barracks, armory, etc.) and claim victory. The castle defenders will try and stop
that from happening while launching counter attacks of their own to destroy the attackers siege
equipment (tents, catapults, etc.)
If you die in combat, you come back to life at 33% of HP/SP until HP+SP is below 20. If you
start out with 100HP you would return with 66 the first time, 43 the second, 28 the third, etc.
Attackers come back to life in the captain's tent and defenders in the barracks, if they have not
been destroyed. There will also be a number of single life NPCs running around defending key
spots.
